Agnes Gebhard is a Dutch medical doctor with a postgraduate specialization in Public Health. She joined KNCV as a senior TB consultant in 2004 and became Technical Director in 2019.

She has 30 years of experience in Tropical Medicine, Public Health, and Infectious Disease Prevention and Control. Having been based in Tanzania, Vietnam, Indonesia, and The Netherlands, she has hands-on experience in managing the TB elimination effort and provided substantial technical assistance to National TB programs in 15 countries in Africa, Central, Southern, and East Asia. She has developed, implemented, and evaluated public health policies and disease-specific strategic plans and programs.

Since 2007 Agnes Gebhard has regularly served on advisory committees to WHO, mostly in the field of drug-resistant TB and TB infection.

As Technical Director of KNCV, Agnes Gebhard focuses on the delivery of quality services and technical assistance to countries, projects, and partners, generation of (new) knowledge and evidence, design and implementation of demonstration projects, and contributing to local and global policy development in support of the global TB elimination effort.
